What led to your current perspective and direction?

The topic for my evidence-based practice project focuses on the use of technology to help in self-management of diabetes. People with diabetes have to always remember to self-manage the condition to avoid complications. There are also a host of psychological problems that co-occur with diabetes, such as depression, anxiety, disordered eating behavior and diabetes distress. Those challenges along with the behaviors that accompany them can worsen medical outcomes. Fortunately, psychological interventions can treat those conditions, improve behaviors such as medical adherence, delay the disease’s onset and even prevent diabetes from developing in the first place.
To address the symptoms, Treatment for diabetes requires keeping close watch over your blood sugar levels (and keeping them at a goal set by your doctor) with a combination of medications, exercise, and diet. By paying close attention to what and when you eat, you can minimize or avoid the “seesaw effect” of rapidly changing blood sugar levels, which can require quick changes in medication dosages, especially insulin……………………
